A single block at Hungary's Paks nuclear reactor remains operational, by Wednesday we should know if it should also be shut down or may remain operational (depends on the Danube's water levels, there are some promising signs but nothing decisive yet). Meanwhile voluntary reductions of power usage by the industry and consumers in the critical periods have been successful in keeping things stable. The same has happened in Romania whose nuclear reactor is offline, major car factories have shut down bringing their maintenance forward to conserve energy.
But electricity _supply_ is not the only thing affected by climate change crashing down hard: transmission is also ailing. Aerial lines have to endure increasingly wider range of temperature swings, something they were never designed for and upgrading thousands of kilometers of cabling even for a small country like Hungary is unrealistic, at least in the short term.
