You are right. First the Southwest, and then the entire South in the U.S. will become unliveable. Even going underground won't help, with the propensity towards flooding.
Where are all these climate refugees gonna go? I keep thinking about previous migrations and how abhorrent their treatment. When Freed African Americans fled to the North for manufacturing jobs, and were victimized by unscrupulous landlords, or when those like my grandfather's family, fled the Dust Bowl, and big ol' California with wide open spaces, acted like these folks were a nuisance, an invasion of unwanteds.
