yeah, i don't especially buy it either. but i'm curious about it especially at this moment because a lot of students in my (art/tech/design) department at NYU seem to have used gen AI in some form as part of their production process this semester, but i'm struggling to see a corresponding increase in the quality or ambition of their work (either across the population or in individual projects)
