Wanted to visualise numerical data streaming out of my Metal renderer: frame times, sort times, GPU costs per frame.
Started designing a telemetry pipeline: lock-free ring buffer, out-of-process emission, capture daemon…
Then I remembered os_log exists and I was already emitting all the data I wanted captured in my logs already…
Apple had already done 1/2 the work for me…
