Someone young and successful going through depression and with a family history of depression commits suicide, it's later found she used ChatGPT as a therapist and now everyone's acting like Sam Altman held an ISIS execution. Maybe instead of asking how we can brain-blend AI to keep this from happening again, we can instead ask why people keep going to machines for this sort of thing rather than each other, especially when they have a (supposedly) strong support system in place.
