I'm not sure how it happened, but I've become a go-to editor for publishers with celebrity-written books. I think it's because I am very good about cleaning up a manuscript without changing an author's voice.
I recently completed editing a book written by a famous comedian. I was excited to do it because I was a fan. Well, my excitement turned into disappointment because he was a complete a-hole.
My new rule: Only accept projects written by someone I don't give a hoot about.
