and in Britain, the right moan about both (and we are all in windy Northern Europe, but there's still enough sun even in winter to keep solar going!)

I wonder though if the anomaly with Germany could be because the rightwing folk like cars (including EVs), the middle class ones often have houses with garages and 3-phase electric supply, so solar power is literally low cost fuel?
