A year ago today, my unarmed husband went to get a bag of flour during the famine.Ifeared he would never return.
He came back with two bullet wounds—one in his chest and one in his leg—simply for trying to save our family from starvation.
He has never recovered, and we still live with that pain every day. Our only"crime"was staying on our own land.
