I was thinking the way game interest me is that either they have some sort of a big intertwined system where I give myself an advantage by doing the maths and having a strategy and you know having found some sort of an optimal next move or the perfect deck that has an advantage etc

but then on the very opposite end, if a game has NONE of that, and it becomes a pure showcase of some external ability or a thing of beauty or just something funny, that's great because I can just rest up the part of my brain that would be inclined to strategize

which leaves games that try both in the kind of a weird middle point where it's not strategical enough or the strategy is tiring compared to the rest of it
