With And Without You: My Ode To Television
It’s been part of my life in parts of my life, totally absent in others but TV has shaped many of our lives in many ways.
"t was March 2020 and Boris was on his podium, talking about the killer virus. I knew it was all nonsense but within five minutes or so, I could feel my brain - and my resolve - softening… and, despite knowing 100% what the faux pandemic was all about, I started to doubt myself. The way information is presented on TV is pretty convincing and that’s no accident. The way the harbingers of doom frame and relay the lies, the way they stand, the expressions on their faces are all taught and learned. They’re groomed to make people trust and believe all they say. I quickly realised this and turned off the huge brainwashing machine. Within minutes, I was back to normal. But imagine what it does to the minds of people who have their TV on all day and all evening. That steady drip, drip, drip of lies and misinformation, often conflicting. What does that do to their brains and their thought processes. I reckon it actually causes them to abandon all rational thought and hypnotise them into NOT thinking at all. They just absorb and believe and regurgitate what they hear. Ad nauseum. This, I think, is why TV was invented… as a replacement teacher, an alternative god and a brainwashing tool."
