That's not Bitcoin's (secp256k1 is not a NIST curve).

Again it theoretically doesn't matter. But we'd still love to know!

The opposite: we now where G comes from in secp256k1. It was theoretically not a problem anyway. But now we know for ~sure it was not some weird backdoor.
