I don't think my mom is giving the niblings books and I think I've become the dedicated book giver (my sister did for maybe one birthday, but I don't think does it consistently) and I've been crowd sourcing titles/authors on here pretty successfully. I can't imagine trying to wade through amazon looking for non-slop books (even leaving aside the "plug the kid's details into something" type). Without the personal reference list it would be a nightmare now.
