My tiny village has a fayre today. A few food and tat stalls. Tombola. Dog show, all that. But they've gone a bit all out and built a proper stage and have musical acts on till 10pm.
So far every act has been a local white woman doing cover versions of popular songs. Not just one woman, a procession of amateur divas from the local area, we're on number 6 by my count. One was accompanied by an old white guy on an acoustic guitar but otherwise it's been single white female fest. Weird.
They all sound pretty much the same, only the songbook changes.
I'm at home but about to go back for the evening session. I'm only doing it because it's a small village and so I kind of have to show my face.
This is very much not Rave Oddessy 2026.
