I've been meaning to go to the [Congleton Jazz & Blues Festival](https://www.congletonjazzandblues.co.uk/ ) for a few years now. As we have nothing else planned for this Bank Holiday weekend, then 2026 is the year.
It's not too far away from us - about 50km / 30 miles as the crow flies. And I can drive there in 45 minutes even without using the motorway.
But I thought it might be nice to leave the car at home. I've just checked the trains: my options are either a 1½ hour journey via Stoke, with 2 changes, or I can get that down to 1 change via Manchester but then it's a 1¾ hour journey. Each way.
It would also cost almost £50 for the pair of us. So sadly I think I'll be driving. At least it's an EV.
