So, so much this. Prepper crap is not resilience. Fortress mentality will not help in the case of sudden collapse, for those either in or outside the fortress.

Also, there's only a single step from telling people to keep their own personal emergency resource kit, to telling them to barricade the house so the neighbors don't steal your supplies - which, considering that what *actually* helps in a crisis is community, is suicidal.
This kind of prepper advice may not be the same as telling people to stop climate change by sorting their trash at home, but it supports the same story of individualizing collective problems, making us all weaker.
