The weird part for me was this was around 2017 when there was some genuine drama around outing you. I was way outside the drama even then and never cared, but everyone in the local scene here in the UK had an opinion on you.
I was at middle management then and I got the vibe that the people interviewing me were trying to convince me they were legit by plugging into internet nonsense — at a time before that was a big deal.
Sorry my anecdote isn't better.
