Honestly, the last decade has been a disaster for "my countries". Both my birth country and the country I'd lived in for decades (the USA) went full Fascist idiot. Even the Netherlands aren't doing great, because it's impossible to find a place to live there unless you're rich, and almost all my young friends have been forced to leave.
