The crazy thing is the performance difference I'm getting here. I converted a silly node js script to rust. What took the JS script like 10 hours (probably because BigInt and strings are slow and I didn't really care to optimize the JS either, apart from making sure it used constant RAM) takes the rust version a couple of minutes. I'm sure if I really tried I could get the js version an order of magnitude closer, but I think some of it is just inherent to JS and how it works.
