Same here. Russia won't accept a cease-fire. They've been burned by that before: Minsk 1 and 2 were such cease-fires, where Ukraine (and the West) abused that time to rebuild and train their army, with the explicit goal to retake the Donbass and Crimea.

They were almost ready early 2022, which is the direct cause that triggered Russia's invasion.

But a mass surrender/desertion would at least prevent the possible annihilation of disorderly retreating/collapsing troops...
