It's got a 328PB microcontroller and like 15 WS2812-2020 LEDs. The rest is just for show. I put a bunch of 1206 resistors and 9 electrolytics on each tree just for looks. There's 2 trees per panel so it's really 65 components per tree. A PCB house charges per solder joint but I have my own pick and place so the number of solder joints and placements really doesn't change the cost.
