In 2017, I was the last white person living in an Athens, Georgia duplex development. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU. Overt hostility from Black residents and a total lack of responsiveness by APD was terrifying.
It took three years before I could escape it and all the while hostility was getting worse and worse. That last year it was quickly becoming a barrio of illegals as a result of Athens being a so-called sanctuary city. The last night I lived there there was gunfire from a Section 8 apartment complex up the hill. Didn't even make the newspaper.
