My Mom is really great as a rule. But an annoyance every time she visits—after going through my fridge—is commenting that I don’t seem to have any vegetables.
To which I always respond: You come for three or four days and we only eat out, so I don’t shop the same way I normally shop when I know you’ll be here.
Anyway, here I am—a 55-year-old man—planning next time to stock my fridge with vegetables that’ll probably go bad just so we don’t have to keep doing this dance.
