AI is:<li>Causing our computer hardware to be more expensive. Minimum specs have regressed.</li><li>Stealing land</li><li>Stealing fresh water, and footing you with higher bills and usage restrictions</li><li>Stealing all of the regional power, and footing you with higher bills and usage restrictions</li><li>When those power demands can't be met, Polluting our air with gas turbines, because EPA doesn't care</li><li>Causing noise pollution and possible physical harm via infranoise, because sound dampening isn't a hard requirement</li><li><p>Stealing all of your data without your consent and without compensation</p></li><li><p>Even assuming you can get over all of that, in my anecdotal experience, I asked it for help setting up an SSLProxy installation:</p><ul><li>ChatGPT generated a config file with a directive in the file that doesn't actually exist in the software</li><li>failed to set a required directive</li><li>set the parameters for another directive outside of the valid range</li><li>asserted that the software could be used as a direct HTTPS proxy (e.g. you could configure your browser or OS to directly connect to it as a proxy)</li><li>When this failed, and when I provided error logs from the software, the AI backtracked on this and said HTTPS proxy support was never a feature of the software, and that NAT forwarding is a requirement.</li></ul></li>
