Conversion practices are formal therapeutic and informal practices that target LGBTQA+ people with a false ideology.
Through these practices, they are coerced, pressured and led to believe that their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender and sexual expression can be changed or suppressed.
After years of reports, consultations, draft laws and political back-and-forth, Tasmania finally has a conversion practices bill before parliament.
