I mostly take people at their word, and I really shouldn't.
It's not worth the cognitive dissonance when I realize they are not who they said they were.
I have to remember to make sure peoples' words and actions align.
I'm not going to close off my heart again, but I'm going to be more cautious of who I let into my life. If I have a bad feeling about someone or where something is going, I need to trust it.
