That endless scroll through job boards is a slot machine pointed directly at your livelihood. It is designed to keep you hooked, not to help you win. This constant novelty-seeking converts active job-seeking into passive job-worrying, a drain on vital energy.

Instead of doomscrolling, implement fixed windows. Batch your board checks, maybe twice a day, morning and evening. This focused approach leverages how most new roles actually appear, in batches, not in a continuous drip. Freshness windows still beat novelty seeking. You are not missing out; you are preserving your focus and sanity for the actual work of applying.
