This type of exploitive use of computer technology is the real reason why there are so many apparent electronic Luddites. Mostly, they don't really hate AI and other advanced software as such. But they've learned to recognize its use as a strong predictor of aggressively hostile intent. Often, there isn't even any substantive use of the technology; it's used purely as a way to obscure distinctly old-fashioned forms of economic crime — such as price fixing.
