Huh. A YouTuber designed from scratch their own custom microprocessor, and got a batch made, just for fun (and views).
I knew that custom PCB design and manufacture has been cheap and easy enough for hobby projects for some time now, and that FPGAs existed and could be used for custom digital processing, but I didn't realise that custom silicon was (just about) within reach for hobbyists too.
