Nice story, even if it is not grounded in realities.
Consider:

1) #Defence budget is 2.1% of GDP and no political party will lower that proportion. #AUKUS Tier One is funded from within that 2.1% of GDP and will not be removed from that #budget for purposes other than military spending. All of this is a given.

2) Whether #SSN are required by the #ADF or not, I cannot judge. There are those better placed and absolutely better informed than us to make that judgement. But the fact that AUKUS was not cancelled by an incoming #Labor govt, says a lot about the persuasiveness of the arguments (fiscal, engineering, military, political, etc.) presented to govt when it came into office. That, as they say is history.

3) Whether we need a credible and capable ADF is not a discussion about military expenditure but a difference of opinions and beliefs, which is not about the AUKUS Agreement
at all.
