From North Carolina’s Weather Authority on FB: ⛴️ Ocracoke peeps as expected, the NC Ferry System is resuming ferry services between Ocracoke and the mainland and has added a 4th run.
NC Ferry Service says “Service between Ocracoke and the mainland are resuming!
The schedule for 9/26 & 9/27
OCR to Cedar Island: 7:30a, 1p, 3:30p, 4:30p
Cedar Island to OCR: 7:30a, 8:30a, 10:30a, 4:30p
OCR to Swan Quarter: 7a, 10a, 11a. 1:30p
Swan Quarter to OCR: 10a, 12:30p,1:30p, 4:30p”
They also say that while the North End of Highway 12 on Ocracoke remains closed, they’re moving equipment to Ocracoke to clear the road and get it back open to resume ferry service between Ocracoke and Hatteras image 2/3
Highway 12 between Oregon Inlet and Rodanthe remains closed with significant overwash and damage on Pea Island. Image 1
