However, there's also a streak in Canada of taking old brand names and using them as generic terms, hence "garburator" and "parkade" (garbage disposals in sinks and parking garages, respectively).

So I'm really tempted to switch back to "autochefs" as a name that some manufacturer* came up with that people liked the sound of, and related, it would be fun to call the mass transit the "skytrain" because that *is* what they're called, here in Vancouver.
