I recently re-watched it as well with my partner. There were 2 things that stood out as ridiculous.
1. They emphasize needing to rescue the hostages alive, but then devolve into blowing everything up within 60 seconds. Then, they just shrug and move on when they learn that they all died in the fray.
2. The lady they take hostage cannot speak English until Arnold just shouts it into her.
