one thing I'm running into writing apps in chicken #scheme is that the memory use is kinda high, which isn't ideal for running on small systems.
my mental prototype for a smol pc is a rpi 3b+: 4-core, 1g ram. So a little util that takes up 50-100MiB starts looking expensive if there's going to be a whole desktop written in the same language.
I want to use a scheme dialect for my desktop shell, but I might need to use a different substrate. gambit or chez maybe..
