- I haven't checked yet! I'm guessing that the vertices are mapped to vertices of a new dodecahedron, just as the icosahedron vertices went to vertices of a new smaller icosahedron. The fun should start when we look at the edges and faces.

I'm guessing we get the "great stellated dodecahedron".

Evidence: this has the same number of vertices, edges and faces as a dodecahedron, but now the faces are pentagrams, not pentagons, and they cross over each other in a way that's difficult to see.

Also, the great stellated dodecahedron is dual to the great icosahedron, just as the dodecahedron was dual to the icosahedron.

There should be even more fun to be had along these lines... limited by the hours/day I can do random fun stuff.
