and the answer to that is they factory installed one of those self-healing plastic screen protectors you can get off amazon. the ones that absorb a shit-ton of screen brightness and a bit of color. it doesn’t stop your fingernails from scratching the screen, it just makes them less visible.
until the obvious happens and the screen starts bulging at the hinge (this always happens with folding phones) and dirt gets in there and then eventually part of your screen has a failure
