At the recommendation of my daughter in law - who is also Autistic - I've started colouring while listening to my usual downtime comfort music.
I'm finding it very relaxing and meditative, and possibly more regulating than my usual approach of laying quietly in darkness.
it gives my brain something to focus on that doesn't require a lot of energy, whereas sometimes, when trying to lay quietly, I struggle to calm my brain because it's obsessing and fixating on whatever.
