So, bureaucratic hurdles have all been cleared and bookings have been made so it is now definite, I will be going to Siding Spring Observatory next week to work on the Huntsman Telescope and Anglo-Australian Telescope.

Apparently someone tipped off the weather, though. I will be there from Monday evening until Friday morning and it looks like it'll rain most days and be cloudy every night, with the possible exception of some of Tuesday night.

I was of course all set to take my telescope, Proper Camera, and action camera to take advantage of the super dark skies. I'll take them anyway, but my chances of getting much use out of them look slim.

I'm pretty sure this is my first visit to Siding Spring Observatory in 2 years, my first trip there for a work related reason in about 4 years, and my first trip specifically to do work on the telescopes in 6 years.
