When I first started using social media, I hoped it would become a means to spontaneously share about your life.
As time went on, it became less about life and more about the performance of life. Not as it’s authentically lived but instead as a “brand”. And by definition, anything that’s a brand is not a life—because brands are designed to be static while a life is always in process of change.
I wish there was a better mechanism to express the process, that thing we call “life”. But perhaps the best way to live is to act, not just observe and document.
