I had exactly this conversation with Mum a while ago.

She was telling me about a woman who had been attacked on a quiet path at 3am. Her response was to wonder what the woman was doing, being out at such a time alone. I countered with "what was he doing going out raping people?" She had never considered it from that angle. Her opinions shifted quite significantly once she did.

We need to keep putting the blame back where it belongs.
