He’s right. What is happening in #Gaza is #genocide I have been resisting naming the sin of the Israeli government, and of all the governments supporting or just watching this happen, including my own. I have, to my shame, been silent about this suffering. So what changed? Last week, I attended the Race Religion and Social Justice #RRSJ conference, and one of the sessions looked at how food has historically been used as a weapon. The tactics the speaker laid out, using Rawanda and the Holocaust as examples, are now being used against Palestinians. What we are watching in Gaza and the West Bank is the end game of what is happening with the ICE raids, cuts to SNAP and detention centers in the US. We will get there, sooner rather than later. This is #racism writ large and clear. I pray that the world wakes from this fever dream, repenting our hatred, and turning away from the violence before we lose the ability to do so.
