I didn't even notice the outage except for some weird alert. But most of my communication is done over wifi to which I'm almost always connected. And I feel like my use for phone is so limited now compared to 20 or 30 years ago with most of what I do get is incoming spam calls, I care less. As long as emergency services are still reachable ... It should be highly reliable and like my aerospace design experience, redundant hardware should be different/non-common products.
