There is one more wrinkle. What do you think happens when you look at clearance rates by "race of victim" or by "income of victim"

Those numbers fall even further.

For the South Bronx where most people are poor and non-white the clearance rate is just 1/2

So, I suppose the "crimes that matter" do get solved.
