2/ went over University pass to cut directly into Center basin and to check it out since it's been years for me. Still bad, as expected 🤣. East side is a tolerable but slow boulder bowl / chute (pic 1). The west side is a steep, loose couloire that's been scoured further in recent years (pics 2-4). Took me 6 hours 20 minutes to get from trailhead, over pass, across basin, to JMT. Took the trail back (more than twice the distance) and it was only 5 hours 40 minutes from the same spot.
