I do recognize where he is coming from as I also was a hardcore libertarian some thirty years ago, though in my defence I righted my ways since it's clear to a balanced observer that raw economics cares none for human well being or the fate of countries whose highest god is Mammon.

For the same reason, almost all religions condemn greed. It is a sure path to downfall of all that practise it.
