Wondering if AI at the moment is like smoking in the 1950s-1990s:
1. Some people chose to smoke, others don't.
2. There is strong peer pressure to take up smoking. The cool people (influencers) smoke.
3. Your smoking directly and indirectly harms other people, especially those close to you.
4. There is a societal cost to smoking.
5. Some groups ban smoking, others allow it. Mixed groups don't work for non-smokers.
6. Even if you don't smoke, you can't escape it easily.
