The Trapp family from The Sound of Music emigrated to Stowe, Vermont where we skied many years, ‘50 & ‘60s. They had mountain lodge up the road from where we stayed. They had a restaurant and a Christmas/New Year’s tradition of burying a keg of fermenting cider in the Fall. It froze,
the alcohol rose to the top. It was served in the restaurant as a specialty. We went once. I was a kid but my parents enjoyed it.
