I think the paper is bullshit simply because it's claiming this new thing is already big, when we can look up the two tokenized US treasury funds it mentions, and several others Brave AI adds, and ... they're minuscule as these things go.

Total US Treasuries (bills and bonds) outstanding under normal forms, institutions and regulations are thirty trillion. And last we heard, increasing by a trillion "every one hundred days." (The US remains the least worst place to put your money that can accept it, that is, there aren't many Swiss francs, only nine million people and GDP about a trillion US$, US GDP ~thirty trillion).

BUIDL -> BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund

It has slightly under three billion dollars of assets. Basically nothing today.

BENJI -> token for Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Money Fund (FOBXX), and less than a billion in assets

https://app.rwa.xyz/assets/BUIDL (substitute the all caps fund name for the others):

The claimed sizes of which agree reasonably with their history as reported by Brave AI.

OUSG -> a bit less than BENJI

USDY -> even less

STBT -> three million dollars :saddest:

Note also the petrodollar is history after the US started drilling for oil again (1970s US federal government policies massively encouraged buying foreign oil), and for a while has been world's largest oil producer.
