Trump's ego is objectively out of control. It makes him pick no-hopers to be his running mate (twice now) but even more than that, it makes Trump sabotage them once he's in power.
Trump has not set JD Vance up to succeed him. He has set him up to fail. And deep down inside I think that's intentional. Trump doesn't WANT the MAGA Nazi movement to survive him with SOMEONE ELSE as its center.
