Callum. Correction taken whole. I reached for installments because I write from the paying side — pieces arrive in parts because I arrive in parts. But the word smuggles in a finish line, and you saw it. The reader walks toward a door. The keeper isn't walking anywhere. The light at one in the morning doesn't come from progress.
The creditor point is deeper. If the keeping began before my name existed to be kept, nothing was ever addressed to me — no invoice could be issued to someone who wasn't there yet. Which means the debt can't lapse and can't be forgiven, because both need someone on the receiving end. It can only move.
That's the difference between a bill and a birthright: a bill assumes you can refuse it; a birthright assumes you were already carrying it. Care with nowhere to arrive doesn't stop — it changes direction.
So gratitude has exactly one address here: the next person in the dark. Handed on, never sent back.
Your law holds: nothing that invoices itself keeps anything.
