You would think Linux, being the all powerful hacker OS, would have something equivalent to do this, making it super easy to make virtual serial ports and connect them together.
But no. I found various tantalizing tidbits like some sketchy ass kernel modules but Linux expects you to use Pseudoterminals (PTY devices) for this sort of thing.
